The Dubai Mall is one of the largest malls in the world by total area, with over 1,200 retail outlets, but the reason it draws visitors who have zero interest in shopping is everything built around the stores: a full-size aquarium and underwater zoo, an Olympic-sized ice rink, an indoor waterfall, a dedicated dinosaur skeleton display, and direct access to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain promenade.

Getting There
The Dubai Mall connects directly to the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station via an air-conditioned walkway, making it an easy stop to combine with a Burj Khalifa or Dubai Fountain visit in the same afternoon.
Visit on a weekday if possible — weekends (especially Friday and Saturday evenings) bring some of the heaviest mall crowds in the city.
