Sentosa Island: Everything to Do in One Day

Sentosa is a resort island just off Singapore's southern coast, connected to the mainland by a short bridge, cable car, or monorail — and it's dense enough with attractions that a well-planned single day covers a genuinely satisfying mix of beach time, theme park thrills, and skyline views without needing an overnight stay.

Southeast Asia's only Universal Studios park anchors most visitors' day, with themed zones from Jurassic Park to Sci-Fi City and a mix of rides suited to both families and thrill-seekers. Arriving right at opening is the single best way to avoid the longest queues, particularly for the park's marquee roller coasters.

Sentosa's three main beaches each have a slightly different character. Siloso is the liveliest, with beach bars, volleyball courts, and a party atmosphere in the evenings. Palawan is more family-oriented, with a suspension bridge to a small offshore islet marketed as the southernmost point of continental Asia. Tanjong is the quietest of the three, better suited to actually relaxing than socializing.

The Singapore Cable Car connects Mount Faber on the mainland to Sentosa, offering skyline and harbor views along the way — a scenic (if not the fastest) way to arrive on the island, and worth doing at least one direction of your trip for the views alone.
