Singapore's Best Ticketed Attractions: Which Ones Are Actually Worth It

Singapore packs an unusual amount of paid attractions into a small island, and most visitors only have time for a handful. This is our honest comparison of six that are genuinely worth it — from a $9 nightly show to a full-day theme park — with what each one delivers and who it's a poor fit for.

Under $10 for a genuinely well-produced 30-minute night show — 3D projection mapping, lasers, fountains, and pyrotechnics performed over open water on Sentosa's Siloso Beach. It's short, which is both the appeal (easy to slot into an evening after the beach or dinner) and the limit — don't expect a full evening's entertainment for the price. Good as an add-on to a Sentosa day, not really a standalone trip.

Skip it if you're just heading to Sentosa quickly and don't care about the ride itself — the Sentosa Express train is faster and cheaper.

One of the largest aquariums in the world by volume, with a main viewing gallery large enough that you can watch divers working alongside sharks and rays through the glass. It's a proper half-day activity rather than a quick stop, and the scale genuinely sets it apart from smaller city aquariums elsewhere in the region. The trade-off is price — at over $37, it's one of the pricier single attractions on this list, so it's a better fit if aquariums are a genuine interest rather than a passing curiosity.

The world's first nocturnal zoo, with over 900 animals across four walking trails plus a tram ride, all viewed after dark with the animals genuinely active rather than dozing the way they would be at a daytime zoo. There's also a live fire performance and an animal presentation included in most tickets. It runs late (last entry past 11pm), which makes it a poor fit if you've already had a long day and want an early night — this is very much an evening commitment, not a quick add-on.

The most expensive and most time-consuming attraction here, and the only proper theme park on this list — realistically a full day, not something you pair with anything else. Southeast Asia's only Universal Studios park has several rides unique to this location, which matters if you've already been to a Universal park elsewhere. It's the clear pick for families and first-time visitors who want a full day of rides rather than a shorter, single-purpose attraction.
